Fashion Show evening a great success
For one night only, on 22nd March, Yetholm Church rivalled the fashion houses of London, Paris and Milan when nearly 120 ‘Followers of Fashion’ were entertained to an evening of glitz and glamour. Organised as a fund-raiser by the Ways and Means Committee, in conjunction with Sarah Thomson, ladies’ clothing, Melrose, it was standing room only in the church.
The evening began with pre-show refreshments and after an introduction by Amanda Barnes, the audience settled down to a parade of some of the latest fashions and designs in women’s clothing, modelled by Nina, Lowrie, Fiona, Shona, Caroline and Lucy. All too soon the show was over but was judged to have been a great success thanks not only to the models, but to the many who contributed behind the scenes. Food for the evening was donated by members and friends of the congregations and the wine by Bill Thomson. All involved gave freely of their time and this, combined with entrance money and the proceeds from the raffle, resulted in a grand total of £1551 for church funds.
