We welcome everyone to our services at Yetholm (10am) and Morebattle (11.15) on the 4th Sunday of Lent. Stuart Kelly will lead our services. Rev Colin is taking a baptism service at Ancrum.
  • Evening Communion tonight in Morebattle at 6pm.
  • Deadline for articles for the Cheviot is today, Sunday 30th March.
  • AGM for Kelso Churches Together is on Monday 31st March at 7pm at St Andrew’s.
  • Craft Group meets on Mondays at 2pm in Yetholm
  • Coffee and chat at Yetholm Kirk on Tuesdays from 10.30 -12 noon. All welcome.
  • Prayer Service is on Tuesdays at 12 noon in Yetholm
  • Lent Study Group meets on Thursday at 10.30am at Arthur and Kathleen Bates’ house, 4 The Yett, Kirk Yetholm. Everyone welcome
  • The Kirk Session meets on Monday 7th April at 7pm in Morebattle.
  • Next Sunday we have our services at Yetholm (10am) and Linton (11.15am).

Prayer for the Week
Father God, today on Mothering Sunday we give thanks for our Church and earthy families and especially pray for our Mother churches where we first came to know you. We remember the Passover as we continue on our Lent journey, giving thanks for the welcome that awaits us when we return in true repentance to our Heavenly Father. Amen

This Sunday we welcome the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland Rt Rev Dr Shaw J Paterson. There will be ONE UNITED service at Morebattle at 11am. During the service Rita Purves will be presented with a certificate and letter by the Moderator to mark her 75 years as organist. He will also baptise Morag Anne Playfair-Hannay, daughter of Robert and Charlotte.
 
We welcome everyone to our service today on the 3rd Sunday of Lent. We welcome the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland Rt Rev Dr Shaw J Paterson.

Heavenly Father, we thank you for your faithful love promised to those who seek you and we recognise that your loving-kindness is better than life itself. Bearing this amazing love in mind we raise our hearts and voices to sing your praise. Grant us your mercy as we go out in joy, seeking to share your peace with those around us. Amen

2nd sunday of Lent

This Saturday, 15th March, we will host a performance of the ‘Upper Room’, a multimedia presentation with music, image and words of Jesus’ last week by Christian Stejskal. It will be at Yetholm Kirk at 6.30pm. Christian has been violinist in major orchestras and has presented his work at the Edinburgh Festival, and it should be a tremendous evening, so please come along and bring your friends. Free entry, but donations welcome.

  • Saturday 15th March - we host The Upper Room, a multimedia presentation at Yetholm Kirk at 6.30pm. Please invite your friends to come along to an evening of word, image and music. Entry by donation.
  • There will be a guided walk around Old Melrose to mark St Cuthbert’s Day on Thursday 20th March at 2pm.
  • The Moderator, Rt Rev Shaw Paterson, will preach at a united service on 23rd March at Morebattle at 11am with refreshments afterwards.
