Welcome to our services at Yetholm (10am) and Linton (11.15) on 1st Sunday of Advent.
  • The lighting of the Christmas tree and carols at Morebattle will be tonight at 6.30pm at the Institute.
  • The Craft Group meet on Mondays at 2pm in Yetholm Kirk.
  • Coffee and chat at Yetholm Kirk on Tuesdays from 10.30 -12 noon. All welcome.
  • Prayer Service is on Tuesdays at 12 noon at Yetholm.
  • Advent Study Group meets on Thursday 5th December at 10.30am in the Manse. All welcome.
  • The Guild hosts an Afternoon Tea on Thursday 5th December at 2pm to mark the season and the 120th Anniversary of the Guild in Morebattle.
  • Foodbank needs: Pk rice, Jam, tinned meat, custard, sponge puddings, selection box, Christmas crackers
  • Next Sunday our services will be at Yetholm (10am) and Morebattle (11.15), for the 2nd Sunday of Advent.

Almighty God, as the new day dawns on this Advent Sunday, we give thanks for the first glimmers of the light which remind us of the coming of your Son Jesus Christ. We believe that your light has the power to overcome all our darkness and pray that throughout the Season of Advent we may we share in the mystery of your coming into the world.   • The laying of wreaths will be at Yetholm memorial at 9.45am, at Morebattle memorial at 11am and Linton memorial at 12.30pm. The Hownam service will be on Monday 11th at 11am.

  • Prayer Service is on Tuesdays at 12 noon in Yetholm Kirk.
  • Wooler URC will host a concert by Resound on Tuesday 5th November at 7.30pm. Please see notices.
  • Worship committee meets on Wednesday 6th November at 2pm at the manse.
  • The funeral of Roy Fleming will take place at Linton Kirk on Thursday 7th November at 11.45am, followed by burial.
  • The next Guild meeting will be on Thursday 7th November at 2pm in Morebattle Institute, when Mrs Lynne Young will speak on the British Heart Foundation. All are welcome.
  • Articles for the Christmas Cheviot should be sent to Susan by Sunday 17th November.
  • We are saddened to learn of the death of Liz Todd. Her funeral will be on Monday 18th at Linton.
  • Many thanks to all who participated in and contributed to the Sponsored Walk. The sum of £912 was raised for Church Funds.
  • Blythswood Charity Christmas Shoe Box Appeal, give a HUGE THANK YOU to all from Cheviot Churches who helped with the Christmas Shoe Boxes. Every box is very greatly appreciated, and they will all be sent to children in Ukraine. We believe that we sent around 20 boxes — a brilliant effort
  • The Harvest Retiring offering for Lebanon raised £400-50
