Remembrance Sunday

We welcome everyone to our services for Remembrance Sunday at Yetholm (Rev Una Stewart) and Morebattle (Rev Colin), both at 10am.
  • There will be a retiring offering on behalf of Poppyscotland.
  • There will be short services at the war memorials:
  1. At Yetholm 9.45 am
  2. At Morebattle 11am
  3. At Linton 12.30
  4. At Hownam at 11am on Tuesday 11th November.
  • Craft Group meets at Yetholm Kirk on Mondays from 2pm. All welcome.
  • Coffee and chat at Yetholm Kirk on Tuesdays from 10.30 -12 noon. All welcome.
  • Prayer Service is on Tuesdays at 12 noon in Yetholm
  • The Worship committee meets on Wednesday 12th at 2.30pm at Yetholm.
  • John Tweedie’s funeral will be on Tuesday 18th November. There will be a private burial in the morning at Hownam, with a service of Thanksgiving at 1.30pm at Morebattle Kirk.
  • The closing date for articles for The Cheviot is 21st November.
The Services next Sunday are at Morebattle (Kathleen Bates) and Yetholm (Rev Colin), both at 10am
The Order of Service for Morebattle is:
Call to Worship
On this day of memories, we gather to sing and to pray;
we remember the past and look to the future.
On this day when the guns and cannons fell silent,
we come before you, God, seeking your peace.
On this day of hope in the face of terror,
we come before you, God, believing in your promise.
Let us worship God together, in peace.

Weekly Prayer
Gracious God, we ask that you will bring your peace into our broken and troubled world today. Come now and teach us your ways guiding us to walk in the path of peace. Hasten the day when you will come again, and all people will acknowledge your sovereign rule. We pray in the name of Jesus Prince of Peace. Amen.
